A few favourite projects, from first ideas to finished homes. Every one started with a chat about how the people living there wanted their home to work best for them.

Two storey and single storey rear extensions

What began as replacing a tired conservatory became a whole-home transformation: two storey and single storey extensions, opened-up and renovated living spaces, and a bedroom with its own mezzanine above, both enjoying the views through the new glazed gable.

Single storey extension

This rear extension pushed what was possible on a sloping plot with tight planning constraints. A retaining wall and an unused patio became a light-filled kitchen made for hosting, with a study area kept in view so the family stays connected.

Kitchen and dining extension

A small kitchen and an unused dining room were combined and extended into an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space that opens onto the garden. Better suited to busy family life, with a valuable utility room squeezed in too.

Farmhouse extension

Extending an old farmhouse full of character to make room for a growing family. Designed with Steve Ritchie and shortlisted for an LABC Building Excellence Award.

Garden room extension

A leaky, draughty conservatory - too hot in summer and too cold in winter - was replaced with this cosy garden room and a new ground floor WC. A light, airy space for working, relaxing and connecting with the garden.

Rear extension and alterations

Glazed doors, rooflights and a picture window seat that doubles as a reading nook bring this extension to life, while widened openings link it to the existing lounge and dining room as one flowing series of spaces.

Full renovation, extension and alterations

No part of this conservation area house went untouched. A new extension, substantial internal alterations and a full renovation came together to create what we think is an absolutely stunning home.
